Key Responsibilities:
- Train Dispatch and Coordination:
- Monitor and manage the movement of trains within designated areas, ensuring trains operate on schedule and in accordance with safety protocols.
- Communicate with train crews, control centers, and other railway staff to coordinate the arrival, departure, and routing of trains.
- Respond to operational challenges, such as delays or emergencies, by adjusting schedules and rerouting trains as needed.
- Railway Equipment Maintenance:
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and perform routine maintenance on railway infrastructure and equipment, such as tracks, signals, and switches.
- Report any malfunctions, defects, or safety hazards to the maintenance team for immediate repairs.
- Conduct regular safety checks and ensure that all railway equipment is in compliance with federal and company safety standards.
- Safety Compliance:
- Adhere to all safety procedures and regulations, including those set by federal, state, and company policies.
- Ensure proper use of safety equipment, such as personal protective gear, when working in hazardous areas.
- Conduct safety briefings and provide guidance to other railway personnel on proper safety protocols.
- Record Keeping and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of train movements, track inspections, maintenance activities, and safety incidents.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on operational performance and any issues encountered.
- Assist in the investigation of railway accidents or incidents and provide input for process improvements.
- Customer Service:
- Provide real-time updates to passengers and stakeholders regarding train schedules, delays, and service disruptions.
- Address passenger concerns or complaints in a professional manner, ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Collaboration and Teamwork:
- Work closely with train operators, engineers, signal technicians, and other railway personnel to ensure smooth coordination of operations.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of railway services.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. A technical diploma in railway operations, transportation, or a related field is a plus.
- Experience: Previous experience in railway operations, logistics, or a similar field preferred.
