Although “God of War Ragnarok” received the most nominations, “Elden Ring” ultimately won game of the year, best game direction, best art direction, and best role-playing game. Geoff Keighley, the ceremony’s emcee, tweeted shortly after it concluded, “The person who interrupted our game of the year moment has been arrested.
Despite the crashers, the ninth annual ceremony featured plenty of surprises, such as first impressions of “Star Wars Jedi: Survivor,” “The Super Mario Bros. Street Fighter 6, Final Fantasy XVI, Dune Awakening, TEKKEN 8, Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty, and more.
