The new AirPods Pro (2nd generation) is here with improved features, the inclusion of an H2 sound chip being the most prominent one and better sound quality, of course! The announcement was made at the September event alongside the new series of Apple Watches.
RELEASE DATE
The new AirPods Pro (2nd generation) will be available worldwide from Friday, September 23. This much-awaited and exciting launch took 3 years, a reasonable time period considering all the updates

SUPERIOR SOUND QUALITY
If rumors are to be believed, the new AirPod Pro is designed to have self-adaptive noise cancellation capabilities and also able to take a picture of your ears using the TrueDepth camera on iPhone to create a profile for personalized spatial audio all thanks to the newly included H1 chip with an upgraded SiP packaging system. Ming-Chi Kuo mentioned second-generation AirPods Pro will have Apple Lossless audio (ALAC) as a major upgrade, which the current AirPods and AirPods Pro models do not support.
HEARING AID AND HEART RATE DETECTION

It is also believed that will support new functions like heart rate detection and body temperature from within the ear and will serve as a hearing aid. The charging case is said to feature a microphone for collecting sounds and transmitting them to the earphone for sound enhancement and playback, “helping people with hearing loss get the environment sound.” There’s also apparently a speaker at the bottom of the case that can play the sound, and work with the Find My app to help users get the location of the charging case more quickly.
BOOSTED UP BATTERY LIFE
The Airpods Pro 2 will have a 33% better battery with a bump-up battery life of six hours on a single charge. The charging case comes with a lanyard loop with 30 hours of listening time. There will be a no-touch sensor included, use a simple swipe to control the volume.
DESIGN FEATURES
Externally there will be not much of a difference between AirPods Pro and the new AirPods Pro (2nd generation); the grilles, microphone location, and stem all remain exactly where they were on the previous generation. Real changes to be within the case with the new speakers located on the bottom of the case itself and built speaker to assist with finding my app to find your device when lost. On the earbuds themselves, Apple uses a new low-distortion audio driver and custom to amplifiers deliver richer bass and superior sound.
PRICE POINT
Apple decided not to change the price of the AirPods Pro (2nd generation). You will be able to buy them at still the regular retail price of $249 (AU$399) as its original AirPods Pro, which launched three years ago.
CONCLUSION
AirPod Pro 2 has come up with some excellent updates at the same price range as AirPod Pro. The most promising feature being hearing-aid. Let’s see how will it perform in the market!
