Key Responsibilities:

    • Develop prototypes and oversee the fabrication of mechanical systems or parts.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design requirements meet project goals and customer specifications.
    • Innovate and apply engineering principles to optimize product design and reduce costs without compromising quality or performance.
    • Conduct design reviews, simulations, and tests to ensure product functionality and durability.
  • Project Management & Collaboration:
    • Work closely with project managers to ensure project timelines are met.
    • Coordinate with other engineering disciplines (electrical, civil, etc.) to integrate mechanical components into larger systems.
    • Provide technical support during manufacturing and installation phases, addressing any design or implementation challenges.
    • Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to ensure parts meet design and quality specifications.
    • Prepare and present project reports, design proposals, and technical documentation to stakeholders.
  • Analysis & Testing:
    • Conduct feasibility studies and engineering analysis using tools such as FEA (Finite Element Analysis) and CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics).
    • Perform stress, strain, and fatigue tests to assess the safety and reliability of mechanical designs.
    • Develop test protocols and standards to ensure that mechanical products meet industry safety and performance regulations.
    • Troubleshoot issues with mechanical systems and products, providing technical solutions to resolve them efficiently.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Identify opportunities for improving product design, manufacturing processes, and material selection to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product performance.
    • Stay updated with the latest advancements in mechanical engineering, industry standards, and technological trends.
    • Implement best practices in mechanical engineering and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement within the team.

Requirements and Skills

  • Proven experience in mechanical engineering
  • Experience with product lifecycle management (PLM), finite element analysis (FEA), and computational fluid dynamics (CFD)
  • Hands-on experience with computer-aided engineering (CAM) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAE)
  • Proficiency in 2D or 3D engineering design and manufacturing tools (e.g., AutoCAD, ProE, or similar)
  • Familiarity with engineering analysis tools (ANSYS, ProMechanica, or equivalent)
  • Knowledge of mathematical computing and analysis tools (e.g., Matlab, Excel, LabView)
  • Strong understanding of core engineering concepts, including mechanics, kinematics, thermodynamics, and materials science
  • Creativity paired with strong analytical skills
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical knowledge
  • Proficiency in technical writing
  • BSc degree in Engineering
